BIG WATER – Barsoom Pictures is setting up camp in the Lake Powell area as it prepares to film the movie “John Carter of Mars” for Disney/Pixar this spring. First published in 1912, the movie “John Carter of Mars” is based on the comic book and hard book series by author Edgar Rice Burroughs.

Fans of the hit animated series, the cars now have multiple opportunities to reconnect with the successful film and history. Starting in October, Disney Channel, Toon Disney and ABC Family a three part series to air animated shorts (Cars Toons) with the character of Mater in the original film called Cars. Toon Disney, the three together in October, Disney Channel will begin by repeating the series in November and ABC family series as part of its annual “25 Days of Christmas” programming event will begin December 23 belong.
